August 7th, 2016

Hi guys, i encrypted some files few years ago on a Mac with the same Mac software and i use to open them anythime i need them but since i haven’t use them for a while i think i forgot the password because i can’t open them any more, is there any software or a way to recover the password other than the keychain ? i checked there and there’s no history of my password, i been updating my imac software and i don’t know if that has something to do with this, if any one can help please ….

Serious encryption software may require years to obtain the password again. What software was it? If the software is good, it will be nearly impossible to recover that password unless you recall it.
Answer #2
Yeah, that is kind of the purpose of encryption, that you cannot access the files without the right password. If you could just bypass it, it would not be very safe.

Thanks guys for your answers i remember i used Toast Titanium to make this files and the thing is that i used the same password for years and now it doesn’t work, so i’m screwed i guess- and exactly that was the reason i encrypted this especific files in case i lost my comp. or it was stolen so no one could open them, now i can’t open them …. i guess i will keep trying …. Thanks a bunch for your time ….
