PC Monitor-Have any experience with BenQ 24″ LCD G2420H

June 2nd, 2014

I’m going to buy a new PC Monitor. The one I’m looking at is this one:
BenQ 24″ LCD G2420HD
http://www.benq.com.au/product/monitor/g2420hd/specifications
So I was wondering, do anyone here have any experience with this monitor? Is it any good, or should I look around for another one?
From what I can see online BenQ has a good reputation, but I do not have any experience with this brand myself, so if anyone has any advice and tips or something, I would appreciate it
Here is what I’m going to use it for:
Online surfing
Watching Movies/TV Shows
Photoshop (Graphics as a hobby)
I will not be using it for games, as I’m not a gamer.
I plan to hook it up to my laptop and use it as a secondary screen.
Any tips or advice is much appreciated!
Thanks!

I own the BenQ G2222HDL which costs £100 in the UK…
It’s fantastic I use it for basic surfing, office tasks and watching movies..
A complete bargain! Great reviews online too see amazon:

Save yourself £70 and get the 22″ you won’t notice the 2″ difference both are full hd 1920 x 1080

I’m going to disagree. all TN monitors like that suck..plain and simple. for around that price you can get a far nicer 23″ LG IPS panel. forget model number. its a fairly new screen so Google will find it for you.
There are no TN screens that rival ips quality.
edit: LG IPS236V. grab one.

They don’t “suck” but they obviously aren’t as good in terms of colour repoduction and viewing angles as IPS.
But as the guy said he isn’t looking for gaming or professional stuff, just to watch movies, browse net etc…
TN panels offer the best value for money. You can’t tell me they suck because I have a fantastic, beautiful 22″ benq monitor in front of me that I paid £100 or $150 roughly for and I can certainly say for movies, browsing net, office 2010, odd game it does not suck!
Obviously IPS is better than TN, but he doesn’t need to spend that kind of money for what he/she needs it for!

the monitor I suggested is £140 ….exactly at pricepoint he is looking at.
TN does suck. the viewing angles like you mention are terrible. the colour reproduction is always poor. they all suffer from backlight bleeding to varying degrees of terrible. the colours are never well evened across the screen. . basically seeing as its the part you use 100% off the time you use a computer it pays not to cheap out on TN screens.
I’m using a TN at home now 24″ 1080p BenQ as my ips screen met a cruel end. can’t wait to get rid of it and get back to a quality screen in front of me. TN = eww. but if you go cheap I guess its what to expect.

Personally I had a very good experience with BenQ. I own a Samsung P2370MS and BenQ V2410, both are amazing. BenQ’s picture quality is awesome.
