Same software on laptop as desktop?

basically,
I want the same software on my Laptop as is on my Desktop. My desktop is my main machine, and everything is current on it. however, my laptop is missing certain software that my desktop has.
is there any such software that will let me install all the software on my laptop that is on my desktop. for example, back up all apps on Desktop and then install them to laptop.
anything can be done? or will i have to manually install all software onto laptop?

You want a drive imager, such as Acronis

Takes a complete image of your system and can copy it over, but I dont know of anything that does software only.

If he cloned his desktop’s drive, his laptop probably wouldn’t even boot due to conflicting hardware profiles and driver incompatibilities.

This is normally the case.
However, with windows 7 and vista, I have been extremely successful swapping HDD’s. It appears to load processor drivers and such as it boots.
Personally I would never image a drive from another computer and use it as my main drive, for fear of problems down the road, but it just might work.
Manually is the best way to go. If you have a few programs that you have lots of custom settings in, you can just export the settings, and import them on your laptop.
For common apps, you can use services such as ninite.
