Answer #13
if people think vista is ok well, its what they like, i preffer XP much more than vista, because vista is so heavy, it looks cool, yes, but u need double RAM for everything, i tried it, with a 2.6 intel core duo, and 1gb RAM DDR2 and a video card of 256 geforce, and it couldn’t run Call of duty 4, so good, i tried the same game in the same pc but with XP and it runs the game very good, and at high resolutions, so, what i think is that vista doesn’t work good for games, but yes, looks much cooler than XP
Answer #14
I love xp
Answer #15
Did you try installing the Adobe Flash player for Firefox from the Adobe site?
As to add/remove programs… It clicked Start–>Help and Support. Enter ‘remove program’ and it was the first entry in the help panel. Very easiy.
With a little bit of effort you could easily have solved your problems. Happy formatting. I’ll wait for the ‘where are my drivers’ post.
Answer #16
i love vista when its just vista. When big corps try to intergate there ~love~ like dell and acer and hp then we have problems. Dont hate on vista, vista is the ~love~.

Answer #22
vista has faecal debris all over it. its heavy and it’s bombing badly in the corporate arena as far as I can tell. The only people getting it are those who can afford a monster of a computer or those who don’t know any better.
Open source all the way, even if it is a bit awkward at first. failing that XP just because you can play games.
Answer #23
Vista is S**T, Format and install Xp mate!
Good luck!
Answer #24
everyone knows XP is way better for gaming. but if u right click on the icon in vista and go to compatibility and change it to Xp u won’t have any problems
Answer #25
xp is the best os.
Answer #26
yerp xp pro sp2 fully updated is the best os out there
Answer #27
I agree with everyone who says xp is better. I have just installed Vista to my computer just for poops and giggles.. and so far it all looks like smoke and mirrors to me. Interface is fresh and clean, but I can make my desktop look the same way with XP. The filing system blows on Vista compaired to XP. And if they ask me one more time if I want to install something, I’m gonna smash it LOL If you like all the smoke and mirrors in Vista.. more power to ya.. I can now see why Micro-crap has lost money on this o.s. I enjoyed my XP Media Center Edition.. and probably will go back.. I learned that the old saying holds true. “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”
~Just my two cents~
Answer #28
Ok, so we know people don’t like Vista. This doesn’t help solve the original problem mentioned in this thread.
Answer #29
The bottom line is that MS is out of touch with computer users.
They didnt ask what users wanted in a new OS. So they spent 5 years (mostly on coffee breaks I assume) designing this.
I still think it’s a scam.
What better way to make Windows 7 look fantastic than to have the previous OS look bad.
Answer #30
if you really want vista, choose xp and get a vista transformation pack.
Answer #31
Why can't i install adobe flash player for firefox so that i play youtube videos?how can i remove stuff like add/remove programs from XP control panel?
Coz Fox must be closed, when U installing flash.(Download Flash close Fox & install manually.
Now Vista vs. XP?
OK, now i’m using new AMD quad 9500 with 2GB ddr2 + 512 Gigabyte 8600 video card.
For 1 week I was comparing XP against Vista and must say XP is bit faster program than Vista, but not in all tasks.
Also XP’s have more advantage over the Vista, coz all programs are made for XP not Vista-what is downside for Vista.
IMO without any DOU 4000+ even don’t install Vista, coz comp will be very slow what is frustrating for user. BTW, im happy with my new AMD,
For example- Now making 4GB DVD disc using Nero 7, all process take 15 min with conversation & disc burning.
Answer #32
well for starters if u cant install adobe, on any system, u need to do some learning (to save flaming).
vista sp1 runs my games even better than xp, and i think normal vista runs em better too now that some performance and reliability patches are available. and if ur a gamer then vista is the only option, directx 10 any1? and dont say u can get it on xp becuase its a fake. games from now on wont even be compatible on directx 9. so anybody who flames vista has obviosly taken one glance and made a bias opinion that is based on a lack of knowledge. any1 wanna play age of conan when its released? well i sure hope ur running it on windows vista with the only true copy of directx 10, the graphics will be way better than anything xp can offer. if im not mistaken vista removes all the gloss when loading a game to improve performance while gaming (may have been a sp1 feature), and with an alt-tab u dont even notice the gloss was gone. its more stabe especially with sp1 its more secure and it has way better hardware support (forget about looking for ur drivers everytime u install it), better recovery options, better activation and genuine methods (never need to patch ur genuinity) and know u can always get updates and microsoft downloads. and now days i cant find any xp only software, everything i find works fine on vista. did u ever get sick of running the network setup wizard and messing with ip addresses and network settings? well forget about it in vista it all just works automatically str8 out of the box, networking in vista is like a wet dream! I have found that everything that was troublesome in xp just works flawlessly in vista with no fuss, and with a little tweaking u can make it run super fast… vista is the new os, this means xp is gunna lose more and more support and updates, untill its wiped completly… do u wanna go down with it? i get better framerates in vista than xp, its ur choice stay in the dark ages if u wish
Answer #33
1 thing, i too get error that installation was not sucessful for flash player in Vista.I have to go to the site n install it for Firefox.
2nd, I didnt got your question on XP
Answer #34
put aside looks in this debate (windowsblinds was created for a reason) XP is much preferred over Vista, XP runs heaps faster, and the majority of programs are compatible with it! whereas Vista is alot slower, hardly any programs run on it! so if you’ve had it with vista, reformat ur comp and start with a XP disk!
