Have you checked you computer for malware?

Seems to me like your users or something got messed up, might have to take a look at it.

Make sure no malware and such on there and that your logged in on the right user before anything.

Well things got more complicated now
When I select Windows 7, it starts and at logon page it’s showing “Updating 1 out of 2” and it gets struck at 15%! I tried restarting more than 5 times, but same..
I’m logged in via Windows 8 developer preview..
I want to fix my windows 7.
Please help, Thanks.

Not sure what’s wrong, but before you reinstall.
If you think it might have been malware activity,
You can run combofix and see what if anything happens.

Answer #10
first of all, is your windows 7 legit?
Answer #11
it doesnt matter that windows should be legit ..
Cracked version is also same.
Answer #12
No, but activated..

Not willing to pay $300-400 for it.
Answer #13
You’re not using SP1? You must be using a modified crappy version that can’t do updates properly.
Answer #14
I can’t think of anything except a big update failure or malware. I guess it’s the first option though. Maybe the version of your Windows 7 was not good. So I suggest you to download a new Windows 7 from a popular thread and reinstall your Windows. Even if you manage to get stuff working again in this Windows 7, it’s going to be a pita to work with it.

It’s pain in the ass. Damm..
Thanks but I got few more questions.
1) Do I need to format SSD and then install?
2) What AV should I use?
3) What Malware application should I use?
4) CCleaner or better one?
5) How to back up steam save? updates?
6) How to back up origin game updates.. BF3 had arouund 8-12 gb of updates?
7) How to back up Chrome and Firefox with complete bookmarks and PASSWORDS?
8) Do I need to update Windows or disable it?
and final one: what’s the difference between my version and en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677332?
Thank you.
Answer #18
1) Do I need to format SSD and then install? Yes. Just use the format option on the Windows installation screen.
2) What AV should I use? Doesn’t matter. It’s up to you.
3) What Malware application should I use? Same as above.
4) CCleaner or better one? You don’t need it. It’s good for cleaning up junk but you should stay away from registry cleaners in general.
5) How to back up steam save? updates? For games that are connected to the Steam cloud you don’t need to do that. A better solution would be to just copy the entire Steam installation dir to another drive and copy it back after reinstalling. You don’t need to reinstall Steam itself just run Steam.exe and it’ll reconfigure itself.
6) How to back up origin game updates.. BF3 had arouund 8-12 gb of updates? Just copy the BF3 folder and copy it back when done.
7) How to back up Chrome and Firefox with complete bookmarks and PASSWORDS? Chrome does this out of the box. You need to set up Firefox sync for Firefox or use something like Xmarks. If you can’t open Firefox just copy the Mozilla folder in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming
8) Do I need to update Windows or disable it? I always have mine updated with no issues. If you’ve used a clean ISO and a good activator you’re fine.
The one I’ve linked to is the final version of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1. It’s an untouched ISO directly from Microsoft’s Technet.
Answer #19
^^ Thanks man!! I owe you a lot.
Cheers!
Answer #20
On a side point, when you get the untouched Win7 SP1 up and running back the way you like, you can use Acronis True Image Home to image your OS drive, then if you run into any problems simply delete the partition and restore the image.
I do most of my puters/lappys once a week.

Re-seat or replace your HDD cables too like what HDD Sentinal said.
And don’t sleep to close to your PC or it could suffer from Sticky Keys
Answer #22
I think before going to re-install your OS check out your RAMs and HDD Cable. If both are correct then try to unmount your GRAPHIC Card then restart. If nothing work then go ahead to re-install your PC. My friend had similar problem due to Graphic Card and RAM. He also open his PC in night for downloading purpose. Sometime its happens.
So better to check out this first then go for new OS.

The thing is, my table is kinda small,, so many wires and it’s like messed up..
Well I sleep near my pc.. say 4-5 meters away on bed.

Ive had same issue 2 weeks ago, it turned out in the end it was HDD, too many bad sectors. It was always crashing at 15% as well.
Bought a new one and everything worked fine.
Just copied stuff on external HD and back on new HDD.

My SSD is new.. Just 2 month old..
Thanks though, I’m re-installing OS.
Answer #26
I suppose you’ve solved the problem. All the Best!!!
Answer #27
have you tried to restore ur pc with windows disk ??
Answer #28
Install NOD 32– AV and MAlwarebytes…. They do the job perfect and you wont even notice they are there..as they consume <1% of ur CPU….
Answer #29
try to log in as admin via safemode, and stop automatic update than run a antivirus (nod32 is the best) and anti malware software…
