Wireless network manager alternative (windows XP)
August 5th, 2016
Thanks in advance!!
Hi,
Try the default Windows one. Tiny XP contains that properly.
Thats the problem though, the default one boots up and everything, yet it wont find any network. But when I run a network analyzing program, although im not able to sign in, it finds everything…
Most wireless card manufacturers have their own management utility (It’s often bundled with the driver itself!) You should check the manufacturer site (Either of the card or computer maker, Depending on if it came with your computer or if you’ve purchased it in separate)
Set all that aside, I’d just like to point out that the plain vanilla XP can run just fine on computers
that have at least 512MB of ram (Provided you don’t open too many things/browser tabs at once!)
If you’re unsure on the RAM amount, Just get it checked with CPU-Z (Memory tab)

Good idea, ill look into that!
I gave lenovo and thinkpad applications a try, I cant explain it but none of them will boot up. Im at a loss for an explanation. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot the default wireless manager? I installed a different version of xp a week ago and the manager worked on that install. But it ran too slow for me compared to tinyxp
Get into control panel>network connections (classic view) then right click your wireless connection and click on properties, Now get into the “wireless networks” tab and make sure it’s configured like this:
If this is already the case, And Windows is unable to find any networks, Then you’re simply gonna have to change the OS!
TinyXP is “tiny” for a reason – It has various components of the OS removed (Possibly wireless support too!) This is exactly why I don’t like customized Windows copies, They quite often lack essential components. Anyways, I’ll be able to offer you some OS advice if you’ll provide me with more information about your laptop’s hardware (Just provide screenshots from CPU-Z, The CPU & Memory tabs would do)
Thank you for your thoughts, here is the info as requested!

You can install “normal” Tiny XP, which will definitely fix your problem. They are not that heavier. You can even install normal xp pro, your PC can handle them easily ( I still think a linux diistro would be a better idea though…).
Ah I understand, as you can tell im being stubborn about linux hahahaha. Im just afraid of change I suppose. I will give normal tiny XP a try instead of beast. If that doesnt work….MAYYYYYBE ill do the switch! lol
Installed Normal tiny XP
Seems to be running with no issues, wireless works flawlessly
