Answer #1
If you mean accessing your wireless device from 23miles, I don’t think that’s possible. Imagine the kind of receive/transmitter you would need.
Answer #2
you want to connect to a wireless signal that is 23 miles away?
Answer #3
you could do it, but you need a huge tower that is powerful enough to transmit that far. You’re better off purchasing a data plan that gives you a wireless usb connection.
Answer #4
Not doable! A wireless N router has a range of 0.43 miles,Along with
an antenna replacement this can be increased to 1.5 miles,That’s
1.5 miles on ideal terms,There are plenty of things out there that can
reduce it. 23 miles is a serious stretch. Now let’s talk about what
you really should be doing,4 options:
1. Use a portable computer (laptop, netbook, tablet, ipod touch) or a smartphone and just connect to an open (unsecured) wireless network,These are usually
easy to find as by default setting routers come unsecured and alot of people
just leave em that way not knowing they shouldn’t do so,Also internet cafes leave the wireless unsecured on purpose so if your near by or in the place
you could pick it up. (Important note: When using an unsecured wireless
network there’s always a chance that the owner or another person in the area
will capture the information your sending such as passwords,So to be on the safe side either get a VPN account or use a free web based proxy that has SSL support,Do note that some sites support SSL natively,If you see https then
that’s the case,Those kind of sites however only protect the login data
and not anything that comes after)
2. If you’ll be staying in a hotel,Alot of em have a wireless
network so you could just put it to use with your portable computer/smartphone
but this will not be free.
3. Get a cellular USB modem+internet plan from your
service provider and just hook it up to your netbook/laptop (these are pretty small so very portable) 4. In similar to #3 if you have a smartphone that supports tethering (internet sharing) you could get an internet plan
and hook it up to your netbook/laptop.
To sum it up,Opt 1 is free (minus the $5-10 a month for a VPN if you choose to go that way) 2 & 3 & 4 are paid and are likely to be expensive,Reliability wise with 2 it’d be very reliable but of course you’ll be restricted to use it only
on the hotel,3 & 4 will be rock solid as you could always connect wherever you’ll be (within the country that is) but do note that the cellular companies have a very restricted bandwidth usage policy so it’s not suitable for downloads/excessive youtube streaming,Some offer an unlimited package but that will cost you extra,Now let’s move on to opt 1,Opt 1 is less reliable because you can’t always find an unsecured wireless network,Not every one is dumb and some people do secure their network,Not every person has a wireless router and the range of wireless routers in general is fairly limited so you’ll have to be nearby to pick it up,Other than that the speed can be negatively affected by your signal level (if too low) or by the usage on the other end (if the connection owner is downloading stuff for example)
You now have all the information needed to make your decision.
Answer #5
First you’ll need about $250,000 to set up the tower… than you can feed the wi-fi signal to your laptop.
Answer #6
tank u all.
Answer #7
With a pair of Nano Rocket from Ubiquiti you can do, no problems, but you’ll need a clean zone, I mean no trees buildings etc.

Answer #8
U can link 23 miles divided by 1.5 miles time a wireless router. Wouldn’t recommend though, as someone might run off with one.
