Windows XP, Admin/Guest account, rights: affects IE-images?
August 12th, 2013
I’m running Windows XP on an HP dv 6000. I got 1 account with Admin rights and 1 Guest-account.
When I log in on the Guest-account and run IE then I can’t view certain images. Google images works flawless, however Google Maps has issues. I got some little red crosses with certain pages like Nokia, Google MAPS where the icons change in red-crosses.
I have tried some ways:
– I deleted, changed and restored privacy settings in the IE-extra/options.
– Deleted cookies, cache, etc… withing IE and with CCleaner.
– Quit FireWall
– Terminated AVAST anti-virus
And finally I tried to change the rights to the Guest account by logging in the Admin-account and execute “control userpasswords2” -> changed the Guest-account from “Guests” to “Administrators”. This fixes this issue, but nullifies the use of the Guest-account…
Why? How?
Thanks in advance for any effort…
Nobody?
You use IE.That’s problem…
Huh, are you serieus dude? I have installed Firefox but it doesn’t start when I double click the icon…
disable the guest account and make a user account. With or without a log in password is up to you. The options for a user are easier to change than the pre set lock-down of the guest account

Yea man, why on earth are you using a guest account?
Create a real account, and configure the settings via Group Policy
Win+R > gpedit.msc
