Windows Vista installation error

January 24th, 2020

I’ve been trying to install Windows Vista Ultimate x64 on my pc, however during the initial part of the setup I keep getting this error:
“A reqiured CD/DVD drive device driver is missing.”
I’ve tried updating the firmware to the latest version, but to no avail I keep getting the error. Any help?

Answer #1
i think theres some problem with your vista dvd
try re-burnning it and if that wont resolve it
then download another copy
Answer #2
lol, its the 3rd version i’ve tried.
Answer #3
if your dvd drive is SATA,check
the bios settings,the sata controller
needs to be set to compatbility/ide emulation
if its already like that then try ahci mode
(do note that in ahci mode you might need
to make a new vista dvd with the sata controller
driver integrated , with vlite)
if its IDE then try changing its master/slave
position using the jumper and if that wont do it
then replace the IDE cable , if none of this helps
then i say replace the drive , i’ve collected all of these
suggestions from google after i searched for the error, these
have workd for others that had the same problem
