Windows Updates

February 21st, 2022

I installed Windows XP SP3, I checked Microsoft Website for Updates, I found about 100mb of new updates.
I downloaded then installed all of them.
Now I want to format my PC, so are those updates are still on my PC so I needn’t redownload them ?
Where are they exactly ? so I can copy them to other drive not C

Answer #1
well if u wanna format your PC, then im afraid all the updates will be washed out too, coz all the hard disk is wiped off During format..
Answer #2
you cant backup the updates and you cant keep em either
youll have to either download some updated xp version
or re-download em all

the C partition alone to be exact,NOT ALL partitions
Answer #3
youll have to either download some updated xp version
or re-download em all

so windows deletes the update files after it installs them? no longer physically available
that’s too bad, windows sucks
Answer #4
yep that is correct, when windows is being updated
it downloads setup files for each update, installs
them then deletes all of the setup files
anyways,theres a 3rd option i forgot to mention
you can download all of the security updates
manually from here
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.aspx
just filter em by the product/service pack
then integrate em all with nlite and make a new updated xp cd,you can also integrate media player11/IE7
its bit of a bother tho
