[sovled]Windows 7 game problem

Every time I play a game in windows 7 there is a black area on both sides of the game instead of full screen, how do I change the settings? I tried NVidia control panel but nothing is there. P.S I am new to windows 7.
RAN THE GAME IN COMPATIBILITY MODE FROM THE .EXE FILE IN THE DIRECTORY

is this just only on 1 game? have u tried to play anything else?

whats the native resolution of your monitor and in what resolution are u playing?
nVidia control pannel has an option to stretch the image acroos the monitor, instead of keeping the black bars in order to keep the resolution ratio being used.

It happens every game you play or just one game?
If every game, maybe problem is your driver. If just one game, maybe you should download and install another copy of someone else.

It happened with two games I play COD and AOE.

In nvidia control panel under
Dispaly–>Native Resolution–>Nvidia Scaling..
