Windows 7 game problem

July 23rd, 2013

I have an odd problem when I go to play certain games.
When I launch the games the pc acts like it is loading for a few seconds but it never does.So I click to launch the game again and it starts right up.No big deal right? However looking at the task manager show that the first game instance is running, as is a rundll app.
And the rundll is using almost 50% of the cpu.
Now if I end the rundll it will close and the first instance of the game will close. The second game app will run fine.
What could be causing this?
Oh,I guess I should mention these are older games,Tropico,Ceaser 3,Age of Empires 2,etc.

Answer #1
Try running the games in Compatibility mode maybe
Answer #2
I have tried running as admin but it did not make a difference.
Answer #3
Running as Administrator is not the same as changing the compatibility mode, and that is your best shot.
Do note that, some games won’t work on new OS’s, no matter what you try.
Answer #4
Thought I’m sure you did, did you crack it?
You can always try to run it in a virtual OS using VMware.
