[SOLVED] playing movies on tv

I have all my movies on a 1tb internal hdd, I have this in a ‘hotswap bay’ in my pc.
could i remove the hdd and plug it in to
http://www.amazon.co.uk/TOPDIGI-DUALHD-eSATA-Docking-Station/dp/B0051JK1J0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326136966&sr=8-1
and then connect the above to
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Designer-Habitat-Nano-3-0-Flashdrives/dp/B005ERNITE/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1326136899&sr=1-2
and then to my tv to play mkv files?
at the moment i have the movies streaming from the desktop to my laptop, which is plugged into the tv.

you could skip the “HD TV Digital Mini Media Player ” and just plug the “HDD Dock Docking Station USB” into you lappy
or yes the 2 items you post should work together OK

I wouldn’t recommend that media player, you would be better off getting the Sumvision Micro 2+ IMO. It supports MKV header compression, which is quite common now and requires the files to be re-muxed with players that don’t support it, whereas that one might not.

I’ll check it out. I just need something to play mkv files.
