Should I DD-WRT my Router

I bought a DOCSIS 3.0 Modem and I got a D-Link DIR-601 for free so I am using that one now since it has 150mbps. I was thinking of bridging my old router (Linksys WRT54GS) with custom firmware (DD-WRT). Should I do it and cover all of my house?

do you need to ? meaning , do you have some areas in your house which are not covered by wifi but you would like em to be ?
Then yes, otherwise I wouldn’t … If I wouldn’t be married , I wouldn’t have wifi at all, but the wife and her laptop is another story …
