Do I get a USB dongle for a laptop with that, and how do I connect that to my PC, would I need a USB dongle for that to, or could i used a ethernet cable?
Normally you have a wireless-networkcard inside your laptop (just watch at the hardwaremanager if you don’t know it). With some settings it is easilly to attach to the router via WLAN. Most routers nowadays have both WLAN and LAN so that means that you can connect this to your computer via ethernet cable.
If you don’t have such a wirlesscard inside your laptop than you can buy such a usb dongle (I don’t thin it is delievered with your router)
Hope this helps!
I have a Zyxel router, it’s pretty good, has 4 LAN ports and 1 for WLAN

Hehe I have been using some one else`s Linksys to acces the internet , when my own didnt work.
So try getting one with protection such as WEP.
WEP is pretty useless. It can be decrypted in a very short amount of time. Better go for WPA2. That’s pretty secure. Just make sure all your devices support it.
Just an example of a protection, atleast its less easier with WEP then nothing
I have tried many routers and never yet found a bad one just go for the fastest most featured one you can afford regardless of make wired wireless and adls combined
