Re-installing Vista, To Optimize. Help.

January 22nd, 2020

Alright, So I have a Dell Latitude D630, And I currently Run Windows vista With a 80 GB hard drive 4gb ram, and a 2.0 ghz Duo Core Processor.
My laptop is starting to run slower so I wondered if I could re-install windows. I have a backup of the files I want to keep already. So overall is it just as easy as putting the cd in and restarting, then going through installation again? or do I have to delete everything (format) then reinstall? Or will the reinstallation do that for me?
Please Help.

Answer #1
when you get to the “where to install screen” format the partition
that’s the best way to do a fresh install

Iam sorry but it seems to be the fastest answer at the site to all most every qestion, REFORMAT, if someone has a virus, running to slow, program wont load its allways the same reformat, A machine repoted as running slow can mean many things, can be fixed with anyone of these fixes like a disk clean up and a defrag, running a malware program and reg cleaner app, on reboot you could do an error check, you can go on line to PC Pitstop and have your machine scanned for free and all the details on how to inprove your machines speed, you can run MSCONFIG and turn off some apps running in the background, that alone would speed up your laptop 3 fold, So Iam sorry I get the shakes when I hear REFORMAT, file back up looking for activators, reloading all the apps and patches to much time, just run afew maintace programs you will see a big difference
