installing VISTA

i am using presently windows XP-SP2.i want to use VISTA(the single CD version or the full version) on the other drive like D or E.is it possible to have both OS working simultaneously as i was previosuly using win98 and XP both.if the answer to any of the version of VISTA is yes,how do i install,just by opening the CD or DVD and doulble clicking on the setup and then choosing new installation?wont it affect the XP-SP2 files in the C drive and make the system unstable or not work properly?please please please answer.
i just wanna try VISTA.i dont even want the full version.the 1CD version will even do.my configuration is- PENTIUM-DUALCORE,ASUS MB,160HDD,1GB RAM AND NO GRAPHICS CARD.(FULL OR 1CD VERSION)
ANOTHER COMPUTER- P-4(1.9),376 RAM,40GB HDD,NO GRAPHICS CARD(1 CD VERSION ONLY AS THE FULL WONT WORK)
BOTH COMPUTERS RUN ON WIN XP-SP2

Yes ,you can easily dual boot Vista and XP. Here is a very good guide on how to do just that in your situation:

You can also use VMWare, it’s a great program to install an OS inside an OS

thankx for replying.i will try.but what i wanna say is that i want both of them using simultaneously,i mean-XP on C drive and VISTA on D drive.thankx for suggestion and .

That’s called dual booting. It’s just what I posted mate

yes it is very good possible yust make sure you have xp installed first, if it is the other way around your boot screen will get ~ censored ~ up like i had :/
