PS3 Mod and Jailbreak info?

Hey all, i wanna “crack” my PS3 but i am kind of confused.
What is the difference with Mod and Jailbreak?
What other software is there?
Help please!!!

there is on a jailbreak thats it calling it a crack is like calling it jailbroken…but you have to by on 3.55 to do the exploit…you can downgrade…but if your ps3 left the factory installed with 3.56 or higher you cannot downgrade to 3.55 so hopefully your ps3 is a few years old?

my ps3 is over 2 year old, but its currently running 4.31.
what is a modchip? do i need to do it before running any downgrades?
got any link for me to download a password free multiman/upgrade4.31 and any other stuff i will need?

Hello Sir, I’m also new in PS3 Stuffs and I am planning to jailbreak my PS3, I am confused on how to jailbreak the PS3 and if its jailbroken what do I need to do to be able to play games from the external HDD, what programs are needed for this steps sir?
