SSL? need info.
what does SSL do? if I download from a private tracker that has SSL for the tracker, can my isp “cap” me? I use alldebrid too but they’re using SSL for downloads too and my ISP doesn’t cap me.
my isp has “limitations” when you’re using usenet or torrents. will SSL stop them from capping me???????

To put it very simply. SSL provides encryption between two users. The two users in this case is you, and the tracker. You announce to the tracker through https aka using SSL which means that your passkey and all the info you send to the tracker is encrypted. The advantages are that your say ISP only sees encrypted SSL packets going to and fro the tracker. This isn’t bitorrent over SSL aka you don’t have encrypted communication among the peers within the swarm. The private flag in the torrents isn’t strictly enforced, which means that anyone can join a private swarm provided he has a way in. What I’m getting at is that SSL on the tracker only encrypts and protects the info you share with the tracker and doesn’t protect you from the peers in the swarm.
If you enable/force encryption with the other peers in the swarm the ISP cannot know that you’re using bitorrent and cannot cap you (although admittedly they could detect you if they use more sophisticated methods). Check your client’s documentation to see how you can enable encryption between peers – and read up on it.

When you say “cap me” – what exactly is your ISP’s Traffic Management System ?
Answer #3
If you want to be sure you have to use a vpn program with encryption, but make sure your isp allows that.
