Ps3 + 2.10 update + Playing Xvid Files

Ok i just updated my ps3 and i was like ya it plays Divx files.
So i updated it and when to play a few movies (which i assumue are xvid) and some of them worked while other did not saying unsupported format.
So my question is how do i fix this or how do i find out what it is encoded with?

How are you playing the video files? Are you copying them onto your PS3?
If you have a PC/Notebook you can stream the video to your PS3. Basically if the video plays on your PC then it will play on your PS3 using streaming.
You can use Nero or TVersity to do this, they both operate as a media server.
