Playing avi files from flash drive

I have a jailbroken ipad 3 that plays avi or mkv files fine from a flash drive, but it copies them to the ipad first. Is there a program that will play all videos without first coping to the ipad? I only have a 16 gb ipad and space is a problem. Thanks for any help.

what process are you using? do you have ifile installed? and Oplayer HD…should be able to find the flash drive from ifile and load the avi you want click it and open with oplayer HD…but i really never messed much with this…theres a watch movies app in cydia that streams all the new movies and over 10,000 older movies with a built in search i just use and as long as your on wifi it stream w/o worrying about a thumb drive…great quality and no lag

Thanks for the info. Yes I have ifile and the camera attachment. I use avplayer hd, works great,but copies to the ipad first. What I would like is an app to play from the flash drive. What app are you using for the movie watch? I would like to give that a try.

well it was movies downloader for ipad from bigboss source but apparently i just tried to open it and it gives me a error and says “do not donate” (it would always ask to donate) and it just stays on loading screen so apparently it got shut down…..sry man i havnt used it in a few weeks but it put all the new movies on there zero dark thirty this is 40 etc… all the new ones and would have info and you could either stream it or download it…ill see if i can find anything else similar and let you know

You might like movie box. It seem to be about tne same as what you had. Has all the new movies, you can download or stream.
