Serious Flash drive Issue

October 17th, 2013

HELLO ALL ,I’m back again .
I bought an ADATA C906(cheapest i could find) USB Flash Drive with disk space of 8 GB a few years back.its been a while since i used it and i decided to test whether it still works.
Well to be frank, i expected tons of viruses since i haven’t kept it well for the past few years but to my surprise the space on the disk had shrunk to 3.77 GB (tried on three computers but with same result).Well, I figured out there might be some errors on the drive so i went straight on to CMD and started with format, diskpart and even the “run” command chkdsk but none worked.
Guys, I’ve tried google(no offense but I HATE GOOGLE) and nothing good came out and you are my last hope.
PLEASE HELP ME

Answer #1
Try a low level format on it.
maybe it shrunk in the wash, lol

Theres a program i use to test to see if flash drives are fake when i used to buy them from ebay
the program is called H2testw it will show you the true capacity and if theres any errors etc..
The link i had bookmarked is here

if a low level format is the right click drive from My Computer and select format thing, then I’ve already tried it.

No that is an ordinary format.
Try this
Apacer Low Level Formatter.
http://www.apacer.com/en/support/downloads/Repair_v2.9.1.1.zip

Warning it does not gives you any option to select which drive are you going to low-level format, it only searches for any removable drive connected on your USB Port, to insure that the correct Drive will be formatted remove all USB Flash Drive and make sure only the one you want to format stayed connected

Also remove any external hard drives that are attached to your pc.
