Problem with conection in home network

January 29th, 2020

Hi, I have some very annoying problem with my connection. I use D-Link DSL-2640B Wireless G ADSL2+ router, 2 pc’s are connected by cable and one laptop wireless. The problem is that on my pc i offen get a dc-like thing while on laptop connection is good all the time. For example while surfing the net I get this sh**t even few times on a minute. It says then on a web browser that connection have been lost or reseted. Router is brand new and cables are fine, I dont really understand wtf is going on. I didnt have that kind of problem ever. I use Eset Smart Security 4 and Win xP Home.

as laptop has no problems over wireless (if you are 100% sure) and 2 pc,s hard wired do have problems then I think its got to be a router isue best to try another router

Mine, about using another router I used an Edimax router for about a years before changed to D-link and the same thing was happening but not more then a month before change so u may say it started happening quite recently.

Yep it was working fine. I didnt mess in router firewall options or stuff so all is as default, all I did is change my router pass (u know admin bla bla bla) and ofc setting configs for wireless network (name of network and pass to connect). I did install Eset SS 4 so I have firewall from it.

Well what I can say, the router is standing on my desk and pc under it so thats what I meant I tryed ditching one but still same.
Answer #9
wireless = 100% ok no drop out proves wan side is ok thus router or soft (protecion on both pc ?) fire wall on one would not affect the other did you ditch both one at a time to test result on the opther connected
