Advanced Home Network Help

August 16th, 2013

Hello,
I have BT Infinity connection and a BT Home Hub 3 with a BT modem. The Home Hub 3 gives me 4 Ethernet Lead sockets. However I need 8!
Do I need an extension hub like this:

To add more Ethernet sockets to my Network?

have a look at that before you go and buy a hub.
a switch won’t give you the performance drop that a hub will.
though if your not worried then a hub will suffice, and would be easier on your wallet

I see thanks. Does anyone know if the BT Home Hub 3 router is a switch or a hub! I know the name of the router is “hub” but its a new router with Wireless N and its a great router. I read that most newer routers are switches rather than hubs.
