Need to reformat a jump drive

Just purchased a new 976 GB jump drive and it is exFAT defaulted. I got it to watch movies on my patriot media player, but my media player will not recognize the jump drive. If I reformat it to NTFS will this solve my problem? When I go to reformat the jump drive this is the only option I get.
