Reformat External Hard Drive

I was having problems with an external 500GB hard drive. I was unable to copy some files to it & was unable to delete some files also.
I tried to do a full format using Windows. After 3 hrs it was only at 1%. I gave up on this & did a quick format. This worked & Windows says the disk is healthy.
I do believe that there are bad sectors on the disk.
Is there a better program that can format the disk & repair the bad sectors.

Try HDD Regenerator.

ID the drive and get the diagnostic app for it from it’s support website
