Plenty experience . VGA is brighter, smoother & with much better colors. Hooking a pc up to a HDTV via HDMI will always have a slight but noticeable input lag also.

I got MSI GS70 17.3″

It will support up to 3 additional monitors but it might lag if more than two are used.
It has two Mini Display Ports & one HDMI. I would suggest MDP to DVI convertor cables for computer monitors; HDMI for TV.

I just want to hook it up to one screen or tv not sure yet. I can get both cables. I wanted to get a 27″ PC monitor for it but Im getting a new tv too for my ps3 so I was thinking I would rather just hook it up to tv and set up a nice working station + you cant compare 27″ to 50″ tv
Answer #10
Looks like a nice hi resolution lappy!
just an ordinary HDMI cable to the TV should be fine.
@…It doesn’t have VGA, which is really a somewhat outdated analogue interface..
Native for CRTs but not the best for digital, as you are really converting to and from different interface standards.
If it looks better, then it is probably due to other factors on a particular set up…
As a practical matter the bigger difference is that VGA is normally an Analog signal while HDMI is all digital. The advantage is that VGA usually comes from a PC starting as Digital, is converted to Analog VGA, then usually back to digital from a display (TV or monitor), and each conversion loses a small amount of time and image quality (in theory anyway). HDMI maintains digital all the way.
So on balance, you may not be able to see the difference, but HDMI should have higher image quality for video (not to mention that HDMI carries audio, 3D, ARC, deep color, HDCP, etc).
