Error when trying to connect my laptop to the TV though VGA

September 25th, 2013

I’ve connected my laptop to my TV screen. At first it was ok.
But as I went to the monitor settings on my laptop, I saw that the TV refresh rate was 60 Hz, so I said ‘Hey. that’s low. lets change it to 120 Hz!’.
When I did that, my TV screen went black and popped an error message balloon saying it was ‘Out of range’ (apparently my TV doesnt support a 120 Hz refresh rate).
Now I cant change it back, cause it can ONLY be changed while the display is on TV, but I cant see anything!
What can I do? How can I reverse it?
Thanks guys, you’re my last hope!

Try going to safe mode (some are press f8 as you turn it on) and see if you can change it. If not, go to safe mode networking, download the driver and uninstall it from device manager.
Install the drivers and see if you can change the refresh rate. If that doesn’t work, try doing a system restore.
