IPhone 3GS stuck in “Connect to iTunes” screen – b

January 12th, 2014

Hi,
My wifes iPhone stopped working today, no dropping or changes to it etc.
It WAS jailbroken, but a month or so ago she updated it in iTunes, it was fine since, just didn’t get around to jailbreaking it again.
So, as per the title – it’s stuck in that dreaded screen, plug me it to iTunes.
The only option there is to RESTORE – but is says it will wipe to factory and lose all data. She can’t lose her telephone numbers etc.
What can be done?
Here’s hoping…

What caused iPhone to goes to that screen? You did something?
What was the last FW you had on it?

Not the case. I have 4 iPhones (from 2G ro 4) and each works flawless, and yeah, jailbroken OFC… So that is not the case…

Thanks for the reply.
The screen went to the Apple sign and just stayed like that. I switched it off and it came back and was the same.
I did a quick search, found to press home and power etc.
I thought I could restore it WITHOUT losing the info, but it’s a factory reset this iTunes warns of…

If you had backup , then if you restore you can return backup…

The one it is currently on is the 4.3.5, prior to that, I think it was 4.3.1 (if that matters).

So you have 4.3.5 now? And you performed jailbreak? I’m not following you…
If you have 4.3.5 now and you performed jailbreak that means you have TETHERED JB and you need to run redsn0w again and to choose option JUST BOOT TETHERED NOW and it will turn on iPhone!

Sorry – phone was jailbroken on 4.3.1, wife plugged in a month ago and updated it to 4.3.5, I never got around to doing anything with it.
So it was un jailbroken at the point it went off and on 4.3.5

Dude… If she updated iPhone to 4.3.5 it will be stucked to iTunes logo and USB cable because iPhone need to be activated with original SIM (MicroSIM) card and after that you will be able to use it… If you don’t have that then you need to perform jailbreak with hacktivation. In this case you can only perform tethered JB!
Plase downlaod and run tool called f0recast and make me screenshot and PM me!
