Thanks alot.
i assume ur using windows xp
is explorer.exe showing up in ur task manager processes?
if not try starting it through task manager,
file – new task (run) type %systemroot%\explorer.exe
also try repairing ur windows using the sfc /scannow command
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
if that doesn’t help, start windows in safe mode
http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml
to use internet in safe mode u have to choose “safe mode with networking”
download this tool and scan ur system ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/cureit.exe
well mate its seems like a problem with the explorer.exe
check the the task manager
if not using a windows xp CD, chose the repair feature
thanks alot, but i do have the explorer.exe
Hi, this happened to me twice a while back. It is actually a worm & I had to get my computer fixed at the shop, I suppose my AV failed me which was Avast! at both times.
I couldn’t do a system restore – it would end up being in the same state it already was, and I tried running in safe mode but it was exactly the same, just a blank desktop.
Same exact thing, I had to run through the Task Manager to access things in my computer. The guys had to reformat my PC, which they say was the only solution.

didnt you try a system restore
Hi, I edited my post to answer your question:
I couldn't do a system restore - it would end up being in the same state it already was, and I tried running in safe mode but it was exactly the same, just a blank desktop.
I really tried everything because I did not want to lose any files I had, and I have gotten to the point where I was just very frustrated because nothing I did made a difference.
