Skyrim subtitles not working

Even though it says in SkyrimPrefs that the subtitles are enabled:
bDialogueSubtitles=1
bGeneralSubtitles=1
They still are not working,does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,
Go to Settings, Gameplay, scroll down, there should be options named dialogue subtitles and general subtitles. Check both options. There should be marked by a weird x. Unchecked, it will look like a square symbol.
