Linux – Unbutu and Installation

but i also want 2 OS’s on my pc
when i started installing Unbutu it said about formatting partitions, if i went through with this, would it completely remove Windows Media Center? because i dont want that –
Could you please tell me how to have the 2 OS’s on the same laptop?

You need to make more paritions first. 3 will do. Then you install Ubuntu on it’s own partition, and you’ll need one small SWAP partition.
any ideas how?? My laptop currently has 2 partitions C and D
Windows is Installed on C
and D just has my downloads but ill be formatting both so that i have windows on 1 and nothing on the other
are you saying i should try and install Unbuttu on the “D” partition alone?
and if all this works, wehn i boot my laptop will it ask which OS to starup in?
