problem with my motherboard?

everytime i turn my computer on a fan just stays on full rev very loud and it stays like that , windows doesn’t start up
thats a problem with my motherboard ive been told , that true or no??

there could be a short in the board, i had a problem my fam just spun and i didnt get no display on the screen, figured the motherboard went bad, i was told by a pc tech

did u get a new motherboard ?? and the problem was fixed when you did?
pc man told me tha it could be motherboard or the power supply

Yeah, I’ve had the same problem. It’s either your motherboard or power supply. Try replacing your power supply before you go and buy a new motherboard. I bought a new power supply first and it didn’t fix it. So, I went and bought a new motherboard, and my computer worked again.

how would i decide what power supply or motherboard i need??

did u get a new motherboard ?? and the problem was fixed when you did? yea i ended up doing that, i also had a shot power supply too

you could read the motherboard manual or look for a power supply that is atx form factor

Often, especially with cheaper power supplies, when the supply goes it takes the motherboard with it by creating a voltage spike which fries the chips. Luckly the cpu often survives as its temperature doesn’t spike as fast as the voltage does.
