FTP link problem

See i own a website…. when i upload stuff on public_html ….i can see it … but this is all HTTP stuff….
but i want to upload it on my FTP… how to do that……
I tried to upload stuff on PUBLIC_FTP …..but when i open my site ….ftp.mysite.com
i cant see any stuff wat to do ?
