setting up a site, need soem help

I want to set up a site on word press and haev a dot com site. But not sure where to start. I know you cna make your own wordpress themes. I know where to buy it but it is using word press, which is the problem.
Any help?

you need to download wordpress…. there is a manual in the zip file you’ll get…. basically you have to upload all the files onto your server…. and then install from there….. its easier then it sounds…. just download wordpress from their site and you’ll go from there good luck

you have the domain now you need web space
then use some ftp program I use Flashxp to load your site files to the appropriate folder in that space the provider of the web space will inform you which folder that is they will also tell you the name servers which your domain has to point to try Byethost.com for free space its good and not hard to do

Please spell correctly and elaborate.
I think your meaning that you want to make a blog using WordPress that has a domain (.com).
Firstly, you need to buy the domain and hosting (unless redirecting), then in the email from your hosting provider you will get something along these lines:
NameServers: ns30.hosting.com
ns31.hosting.com
Then go into your domain panel on the site which you registered it (if you bought it with the hosting, it should automatically do it itself), go to the page ‘Change NS Location’ or ‘Change Name Servers’; then delete any current ones and enter the new ones in the email.
Save settings in the domain panel, logout, go to your hosting panel now. It should be cPanel 11 and you most probably put the domain in at the start, if you didn’t go to add-on domains or contact your hosting provider. After which ensure you have a working FTP account then download FileZilla (freeware) or CuteFTP (paid software, get a crack).
Connect to your server, upload the downloaded wordpress script (unzip or unrar it first, read instructions). If you need to CHMOD, right click the file you wish to put permissions on. If you need to make a database, go into your hosting panel and scroll down until you see Database Wizard, click that and follow the steps. Remember when your entering the settings into wordpress the databases begin with your cPanel username.
E.G: Your cPanel user name is , your database name and user will be _ then name etc…
If you just wish to redirect to a blog which runs wordpress; go into your domain panel without buying any hosting and make it redirect to a location.

I just want somthign simple, want a dot com site, but usign a wordpress platform where i can upload files to rapidshare and people can click on them. Thats just em breaking it down simply.

Oh in that case, don’t use ragingblogs, they have a strong rule against piracy and search around for another wordpress blog provider.
Then simply do what I said; redirect your domain to your blog.
E.G
www.blogmania.com/- Put that in the redirection box (not that exactly but that kind of format).
Then save and log out. Give it 1-36 hours to work.
