New Computer

Just got a new computer for Christmas. I was wondering what software i should put on here to keep it running smooth. Its a laptop, and its Vista. Idk how to check its like ram and stuff so if you need that ask.

Well, a firewall. Just dont go on a downloading spree of things you might not need and get the thing all cluttered up. As well get O&O Defrag, I use it and its great. As well get a good virus scanner.

I suggest you get NOD32 first. Even the free version is OK. Then browse the net for software and find out the good from the bad. My recommends are:
-Diskeeper ’08
-WinRar
-Codecs
After this you can just kind of add software which is needed for your use. ie if you want to install games, photo editing software etc.
