Alcohol 120%?
January 22nd, 2020
Used for handling image/ backup of CD/ DVD, just like daemon tools.
the program lets you store your most used CDs as images on your computer
Home users make backup copies of their game CDs and movie DVDs*, allowing the kids to treat multimedia disks roughly, without destroying their value.
Librarians and school administrators use Alcohol 120% burning software to archive their institutions' collections of recordable media, protecting themselves against the daily wear and tear that damages discs.
Business users use Alcohol 120% burning software to make duplicate backup copies of software titles, ensuring that they will continue to have access to their licensed software, even if their physical CDs become damaged and unusable.
With Alcohol 120% burning software, you no longer have to worry about CDs or DVDs* getting lost, stolen, or damaged. Duplicate discs work just like the originals, and your entire collection can be archived safely.

So when you say ‘Stores most used CDs as images’ What does that actually meen? just makes the file smaller?
nah what it means is it stores the CD as an image file, it can also run these image files using a virtual drive made by the software. So for example, you have office 2007 on a cd, you can use alcohol 120% to rip the disc to the computer and save it as an image file, this file can then be burned onto another disc or run on a virtual drive (another feature of alcohol 120%) so u can run the disc without the cd. This helps in the games download seciton because people post .iso image files, which is bascially a cd that has been ripped into a file, people then use alcohol 120 percent to emulate a cd drive and run the image. Hope that helps u out.
EDIT: also applies to DVD’s
What does image actually meen in terms of this? ive used an IMGburner as i have done it for my Windows7 disc, Does it make the file any smaller? or does it just put it all in 1 file?
it puts everything in one file. similar to a rar or zip file except there is no compression.
So if i want to download a game of here in ISO format do i need to install Alcohol 120%?
yea u do, then u can “mount” the image file using alcohol 120% and play ur game pm me if u need like a vid tutorial or somefin.

This software creates a virtual drive for you to mount images of discs.
