Psp slim 3.71 modding help please

January 28th, 2020

can you upgrade/downgrade/hack/(whatever you want to call it) a slim+lite psp at 3.71 firmware to make it play ISO/CSO files and if so what things will i need(and where can i get them)?
speak slowly if you wish, im very new at this i only got my psp yesterday so i dont have much idea what to do or even if it is possible
athough i believe the things i need are 3.71 M33-2 firmware and pandoras battery(a hacked battery of sorts i believe, though not entirely sure)
if there is a guide which answers all these questions for a n00b such as me i would be very grateful if someone could post(or PM) its location to me.
thanx to all who help and i wish everyone happy holidays and hope everyone got what they wanted!
P.S. i have checked many websites but not many accurately answer my questions so i think its better i ask them myself
i did not check google or yahoo or ask or things such as that but admittedly that is because i have no idea what it is im looking for, yes, i know, im pathetic

nope you can not downgrade a 3.71. The highest firmware that is downgradable is 3.50, but you needed a version of a gay game called lumines to downgrade so that is out the window too.
Answer #2
hmm. of course you can downgrade your slim and lite psp. first of all you need a modified psp fat running 3.71M33 custom FW. you will know someone! on the fat psp you need to make a jigkick battery and a magic memory stick. the memory stick needs to be prepared using ‘despertar del cementario 3’. google it. once this is done you can put the magic memory stick in your psp slim then put in your fat psp jigkick battery and start it up. gives the option to flash your psp and installs custom firmware 3.71M33-2. you can then upgrade to 3.71M33-4 by downloading it from dark alex website. google that too.
hope this helps.

it does indeed thank you very much i do know someone with a fat psp but im not sure what firmware he has, but with a lil persuasion perhaps i can find out and make him help me out
even though i probably can pull this off any alternate methods(if there are any) suggested by people would still be helpful to know incase i need to resort to them

Ok simple. You have one option, and only one. You will need to use a pandora battery on the PSP.
You can buy these off ebay or make them yourself (Need a homebrew able PSP and a PHAT PSP battery.)
You can either make it your self, buy it, pay someone to downgrade the PSP for you. PM me for any help you need (I am a very trusted PSPbrew help expert )
Answer #6
you can downgrade any psp with pandoras battery ANY
Answer #7
is that all i need to do? get a pandoras battery? if so then: christ i thought it was sooooo much harder then that, seriously i been confused for 2 days now for that? maybe ill check how much i can get them for on ebay or amazon
if not: what else would i need?
sorry for all the questions and my noobiness at this, just that ive heard about bricking the psp and i dont want that to happen to me so im trying to understand it as best i can
Answer #8
Kinda but
Well you need a pandora battery set. You can get a set on ebay for like 40 something bucks (
Make sure its a version that works with the slim. And thats all yu need to get to custom firmware and load all the ISO’s/ CSO’s you want.
Answer #9
hmm it was mentioned that i need a magic memory stick, is that true?
if so i have a Sandisk memory stick PRO duo, not an official sony one
and for the magicgate thing in game>options it says: Magicgate supported
oh and btw my current one is 512MB
i hope i dont need to get a new memory stick but im planning on getting a 2GB one anyways(ive heard that 4GB dont work with pandora’s battery, although the guy i heard this off didnt really know why, he had simply heard it somewhere)
oh and thanks to everyone for their help so far
Answer #10
pandor bat!
Answer #11
pandor bat!
um…what?
Answer #12
Thas what i ment by set. so yes you need the memory stick too. This you can also get on ebay with the battery. This has to be a official memory stick over 256mb ( 1gb is the best)
Hope that clears it up for you.
Answer #13
okay im pretty sure i can make my memory stick into a magic memory stick due to this:
mine is the same brand as this(albeit mine is 512MB not 2GB)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2GB-Magic-Memory-Stick-Pro-Duo-PSP-Pandoras-Battery-UK_W0QQitemZ120201529663QQihZ002QQcategoryZ127745QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
now all thats left is: how do i make mine a magic memory stick
and then i need to get me a pandoras battery
