Best Headset

Other threads are outdated.
After some research there a few that seem to be decent however I would want to check with everyone here.
Roccat Kave: Would be my n1 pick, the only bad thing is that aside from the analogue 5.1 it’s USB powered, thus making it useless if you ever needed it for something portable where you can’t power it.
Another thing that concerns me (aside from the weight which I don’t think will bother that muhc) is that you have the whole “set” to adjust the sound (reviews stating that it’s pretty much useless). And a final problem might be the number of cables. I do have to say it looks quite comfortable (and real leather?)
Logitech G35: Overpriced imo and USB sound and “supposedly” 7.1. Despite the positive reviews I reallly remain sceptical as I do not believe that virtual sound can be surround …
Razer Cartharias: Same price range as the Kave but it looks way too cheap and “plastic”. And I doubt the sound?
Aside from these 3 I’ve looked a bit at some Turtle Beaches and Tritton headsets but don’t really know much about it. So basically I’m looking for something around the 100 dollars/euros that gives decent sound for gaming/movies and is comfortable. As far as the “surround” goes, I don’t care about 7.1 mashed up in a small headset … 5.1 might be good, but my onboard soundcard might not get the best results, eventually giving a vritual surround or stereo …
Looking forward to input.
ive always recommended the dre beats head phones

Aren’t they perfected for music thus making them only “average” for movies/games?
That aside, the cheapest one is at 180 euros which seems much to me as headsets don’t last that long.
they are good for music but they are designed to keep almost all outside noise…outside… they would just as well with movies/games..and they make diff kinds i belive that will be more in your price range…just a heads up
They seem to have 5-6 different headphones, with the cheapest headset (not headphones) still at 180 euros. After my previous headsets experiences I don’t want to pay too much for something that lasts 3-4 years at best (most die after 2 years due to jack/wire failures …).
I’ll try to see if I can try them on somewhere in a store. Have been hearing good things but still …
I actually don’t need noise cancellation. As it would mainly be used for movies/games on a pc inside, a minimal cancellation is enough. Even if I were to go out with them, I don’t mind the noise as I don’t want to be locked out of the world on the streets
Thanks for the input though
Bumping
I’d stay away from any headphones that are label gaming. It’s just another way for the market to bump up their prices.
I used Sennheiser HD 595 for gaming and Music.
If you are playing an FPS game like CSS and you need to hear a lot. I’d recommend any headphones that have a good range of “Frequency Response”. As well, Open ear tends to work better for gaming you can get a better perspective of where the people are located, however you will get external noise. If you are in a noise area, you might want to get a noise canceling one.
I agree that the “game headsets” labels are purely economical. Despite that, there are a lot buycrazy people that give positive opinions on a lot of headsets with +-100 pricing. I’ve also been looking around on the Sennheisers and almost all of their HD series are looking promising. And I’ve also gone down from any USB-only headset. This basically leaves either the “gaming” headsets as the Siberia V2 etc. and the Sennheisers which aren’t game marketed (but are great quality as we know …). Only thing is that the greater HD series are a bit pricy and are somewhat difficult to find in this are. I’ll go out tomorrow and check some of the HD series as I’ve always wondered what they would be like .
Has anyone had any experience with a Siberia v2, and possibly could compare them to a Sennheiser?
