[SOLVED] XP user account not accessible

August 6th, 2016

Earlier today i was trying to install cursorFX from stardock which required me to change the SID of this computer. The proccess froze at the middle and i was forced to restart the pc by the old way (power button for 5 seconds) Sfter that the pc booted fine but when i logged on ym account it showed me a default XP desktop and everything was gone. I checked the Docs and settings folder and a new folder called <user>.DESKTOP was there, and that was the one being in use atm. I tried emoving the password from the account and access the folder <user> (the original account folder) but it says access denied. I tried rename my courrent account and create a new one with the same name (hoping it would catch that folder) but it didnt. instead it created a folder named <user>_2
ANyone knows how i can access that folder? I dont mind formatting, but id like to be able to pick the files from there 1st
I also tried going into safe mode and taking the ownership with the admin account but no luck. I had the account password protected, so the fils in there are encrypted :/
Thanks
