Remove MS Office activation

Not sure what to call it, but I had a copy of MS Office which failed it’s activation, so I uninstalled it and downloaded a copy with a working crack/activation (which worked fine on my laptop with no annoying messages).
When I installed the new version on my PC, it still had the warning messages etc. I’m guessing MS Office left some stuff behind, but I have no idea.
Any advice?
