Setting Up KMPlayer for Anime

January 21st, 2020

I was wondering if anyone could help me optimize KMPlayer for Anime playback? Overall it’s pretty amazing at how much better it has made the small size rips (40-80mb), and I’m sure with some more advanced tweaking it would look even better!
Here’s the settings I use so far:
Video (Advanced) > aWarpSharp
– Set on High Quality 3-Pass Video (Advanced) > Video Renderer > VMR9 Renderless
Subtitles > Draw to VMR Surface
As you can see, I have only touched the basics, and would love to get some tips on how to set it for anime playback…
Cheers

Answer #1
You want it to set it to display subtitles correctly? as some anime releases have styled subtitles and KM Player doesn’t show by default?
Answer #2
nah, the subtitles are perfectly fine… I’m talking overall picture quality mainly. I haven’t had any troubles with subtitles (other than vobsubs beings completely ugly)
I’m well aware that settings will vary from anime to anime/rip to rip, but if I can learn what improves the quality, I’ll know when and how to apply it.

well I couldn’t test it cause I don’t have CUDA supported GPU but see if this helps. http://nunnally.ahmygoddess.net/configuring-kmplayer-to-play-h-264-videos-using-microsofts-directx-video-acceleration-dxva-and-nvidias-compute-unified-device-architecture-cuda/
you can get CoreAVC from here and give it a try

thanks , looks promising/interesting… but a rather long setup.
EDIT: Ah, it appears I can’t test it either… my pc is crap.
