microsoft office 2007 blue help

Hi all
ive been trying to install microsoft office 07 on my sisters pc and everytime it starts installing at the very end i get an error message ERROR1706 then it says rolling back the changes ( i assume putting back office 2002 that she had ) so i let it do this and when its finished office 2002 is gone but 2007 is their and i can load it up and assume to use itwhats going on,
also when i try to install update SP3 it asks me to insert the disk microsoft office 2002 with front page and if i dont because i do not have that disk it cancels the update,this is the reason i was trying to put on office 07 to get rid of that problem but its still doing it please help guys

I would use Your Unistaller first to remove all traces of both versions then do a clean install of 2007.Make sure you have backed up all your mail , contacts and Passwords from outlook if you are using outlook express you should be able to import everything but DO make a note of your e-mail passwords.

i do use your uninstaller so ill try getting rid of all the office stuff out of their like you say and then ill try to install again do you think this will get rid of the sp3 update problem cheers

Not sure about the sp3 update try installing the XP update BEORE you install office,but Ihave had clashes when not doing a clean install,also get the office service pack 2 direct from microsoft or WBB as this will save a LOT of time .

Make sure Office 2002 is fully uninstall with one of the following programs.
Windows Installer Cleanup Utility for MS Office and other Windows Programs

so when i get her house tonight ill go through youruninstaller and take off everything to do with office both 2002 and 2007 then restart and put in the 2007 office blue edition i got off her and hopefully it should work, should this correct the sp3 update problem i have thanks

I would suggest you update before installing office.
