R41 3ds gold ( a failed christmas present)

i bought a r4i gold card and downloaded the latest firmware wich is ” R4i Gold Plus V1.9″ . i formated and then extracted all files to the micro sd card. then i put the downloaded 3ds games onto the micro sd card. then when i turn it on and select to access the card it just says loading and thats it. the firmware of the nintendo 3ds is 2.0.0-4u. this was a gift to a 9 year old boy and i feel like crap because it’s not working. please help. and thanks a million to anyone who helps in advance. the kid will appreciate it more than you could imagine.

3DS games will not work with the card, only DS games. There is no way to play 3DS games yet. They name the cards as 3DS cause it works on the 3DS and tricks people into thinking 3DS games will also work with them.
If you can’t get it working with DS games just post the website listed on the box it came in (I ask this cause there are a lot of different R4 cards)

Yeah at the moment its only capable of playing other DS roms, hopefully theyll update soon. Theres a 3DS jailbreak..i havent tested it myself you mite want to look into that

They are right only regular ds games. But for a 9 year old boy I guess DS games will be enough I mean he can have thousands of good games. Good luck with those regular ds games
