I’ve seen DVD/VCR combos that burn it to DVD then from there put on computer, never seen one for a VCR straight to a pc ( through a USB I suppose?)

This easiest option is to get a dvd/vhs recorder such as http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-DVR620-DVD-Recorder-Black/dp/B001T6K7G6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289424379&sr=8-1
These can be picked up cheaply now. Then record the vhs to dvd and then rip it into your desired format. The second option is to get a tv capture card and record the vhs direct from a vhs player to your pc. These can be alot more costly thou.

Get a USB capture card such as this one
http://www.shop.bt.com/products/best-value-compro-videomate-c200plus-usb-video-audio-capture-stick-6L33.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product+search
connect your video to the capture card and plug the capture card in your USB slot and start recording on your hard drive.

Back when things starting going digital made quite a few bucks converting Vhs to Dvd .
Bought this and it has worked great .[It’s paid for itself many times over] Hooks up to stand alone VCR
Still making money doing Wedding and special occasion VHS to Dvd conversions ADS DVD Xpress

If your only doing a few then it’s possible to feed analog from VCR to Vid card on your computer using an analog to s-video cable

Edit;
Posted the above before I saw you had Easycap,you should be all set .What do you need conversion software
You do need to rewind to the start and easy cap will by-pass any content scrambling you may run into
Back in the day[Medieval Times] had 2 VCR’s One to play one to record from the TV with an inline Wavelength shaper to bypass protection
