Ripping DVDs and Split Archives

First is… What program is the Best to rip DVDs? (I prefer HQ rips)
Second is… How would I Split Archive these movies and set a password, with winRAR?
I have over 350 dvds at my house (dad doesnt beleive in renting movies) and i’d like to upload them, once i get a premium account for rapidshare or megaupload, and share my movies with all of you guys 
For the copying i would advise 1clickdvdcopy, and to set a rar archive you will right click the .avi and click add to archive, then in the bottom right you enter in how many bytes you want each file to be, and to add a password (not advised) go to advanced and click password.
