Which Electric Guitar Should I Buy?
August 3rd, 2016
– Dean Vendetta XMT
– Dean Evo XM (I loved this the most)
Im a beginner guitar player, i’ve been playing for 3 months, but im very dedicated to it, i really love it, and i think it’s time for me to buy a nice but cheap guitar, i wish to play metal (since i listen principally to metal and it’s my favorite genre) the Vendettas have both 24 frets which is good for a metal player but it’s not vital as my friends have told me, im thinking about those 3 possibilities, but the one i loved the most was the Evo XM (but it has 22 frets tho.. but i don’t give much of a problem for it) because of its shape (Les Paul-like) i’ve played in guitars with Les Paul shapes from my friends and i feel really confortable with it so im really giving a thought of buying that one…
But since i am a beginner as i said, i want to get some advice first..
Thanks in advance, i will really appreciate your response.
if you play metal and other heavy stuff, get yourself an LTD
the h-1001 is kickass
yeah but that’s 900 USD… im kinda poor and also my parents won’t give me something expensive since im a beginner… i need something like those Dean that are around 150 :/ im pretty decided about the evo, but what can you guys tell me about those guitars? any personal experiences or any bad/good reviews about them?
You are better of saving more money, cause 150 won’t buy you good material, I would suggest to atleast get in the price range of the LTD ec-100, or check out ibanez guitars. But most dean guitars suck in my opinion, at least the ones I played with.
save up money get a decent guitar ..it will be worth it also try the ultimate-guitar.com ..the forums there are really resoursefull when it comes to guitar
Thanks guys, i looked up at reviews in ultimate-guitar.com and i got surprised with the reviews on XMT, so now im decided for it, and though i can’t buy any more expensive guitars… here everything is very, very expensive, and these guitars gets the price doubled… Also i watched a youtube video of a man comparing the XMT vs Fender Stratocaster, and the XMT sounded pretty much better
Thanks again for your responses
the sound also depends on what kind of amp you have, even a 2000$ guitar will sound bad on a beginners amp
oh yea totally right, but well i got a limit on that, it would be wether to buy a good guitar on that price range or a good amp on that price range :/ so sincerly i’d rather get this guitar and later when i sell some stuff of mine i’ll buy a good marshall amp
Thanks again
Hey man all you have to keep in mine most is not the shape or look of the guitar even though these are important the most important aspect to keep in mind is the tone of the guitar. if you buy a nice looking guitar with bad tone over a less attractive guitar with better tone you will kick your self later. look over this site http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/Features/25-secret-ways-to-get-the/
it will give you somethings to keep in mind when purchasing a guitar. Even if are a beginner getting a good guitar can really accelerate your learning. And good guitars with good tone aren’t always expensive. Try to have a good chat to the owner of the music shop they usually have a fair idea of what the guitar is like and you can learn a lot. As to the guitar you mention above i would pick the Dean Evo XM this guitar is easily interchangeable between style if you wish to play something other than metal.
anyway hopes this helps you out lets us know what you descide
An earnest suggestion to you would be to check out the Ibanez Gio series of guitars. If you re on a tight budget and a beginner, The tonal variety and the versatility of a GRG 120/170/270 with 2 Humbuckers and a Single Coil are pretty hard to beat.
You should really try the Tokai ALS48. You’ll fall in love with the way it sounds, clean & overdriven, with nice warm tones. Though you may want to go for used. A new one costs $535. Alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. In my opinion, it’s better than a Gibson Les Paul and is a fraction of the price.
