Installing Vista over XP?

More advice wanted please.
I have a HP Laptop which had Vista Home premium on and after having so many problems with Vista decided to format the Sata HD and install XP Pro 64bit after getting the drivers from HP, anyway this is not running that well should I reinstall Vista, if so can I install it over the top of XP, I have downloaded from WBB ‘Vista Ultimate 32bit SP1’
Can someone please give me some advice on this please?

You should not do that . More problem will come . Try to format your HD again and reinstall Vista.
Bad idea…Backup your important data format and install Vista…or do a Dual Boot…
Ive done it both ways and haven’t had any issues with either one but since you probably dont have anything to back up anyway a fresh install is the best way to go.
backup and either dual boot or just fresh install vista…i dont know why you would want to change anyways from vista to xp but w e…i really like it and only have problems when i do something stupid with the cmd prompt or something in the registry lol…you should of just stuck with vista or got a computer with better specs lol
