is my PC x64 compatable?

August 5th, 2016

I’m going to format my computer and re-install Windows 7 and I’ve just checked my system section on control panel and my processor is AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30HGHz
I don’t know if RAM affects it but i have 2.5GB RAM (2.37GB usable)
does this mean i should have a 64-bit OS?

To answer your original question, it seems like your CPU is 64-bit compatible:

Whether you want to use a 64-bit OS is upto you though!

There’s not much point in going 64Bit unless you have 4GB+ of RAM. You may get a slight perfomance boost in some apps though, as 64Bit can load larger chunks into system memory.

Before u do,know that 4gig is needed for x64, it can run on 3 or 2gig, buth x64 really needed more to run perfect.
Than know that a lot of software is not x64 compactible, like google chrome…
maybe upgrade the ram and check before instaling it al the software u wont that it is able in 64bit

Yes, if an app is 32bit it will run as 32bit. Here’s a pic of my taskmgr, running Win7 x64 (Notice the little *32 for 32bit software). Image
