Adobe After Effects CS4, Portable/Retail Question.

February 3rd, 2020

First.. The easy question.
Can I install Plugins with the Portable version? I have heard yes, and no. If so please tell me where the folder is to drop them in there or if there is another way because since it’s just an .EXE their isn’t any folders, but I swear I have seen it done.
Reason for asking..
There is not 1 working AE CS4 FULL version on this whole site, tried cracks, keys, patches etc, etc. I seem to of gotten it to work the first time, the main one that is everywhere under AE CS4 in search, where you basically just replace one of the .DLL’s and I got into complain mode because I didn’t like that you have to cancel trial everytime it started (or i possibly just had the trial and did it wrong, HIGHLY UNLIKELY), so I messed around with it and uninstalled to try again and so far, after 5-10 times I can not get the real version to work. It won’t let me drop .MP4 files in and is missing some of the retail plugins it seems, this is how I can distinguish the 2 as there is no other way to tell really.
I tried a REG clean, deleting anything and everything AE i could find on my computer, multiple versions with the same crack.. NOTHING. Can someone please help me I really need it to finish a project I’m working on and I have a hundred + files I’m not transferring to my crappy net-book to finish it up on.
The one I used on my other computer is now in the Graveyard section deader than a door nail.
Help?

Adobe doesn’t release portable versions of their apps. You’re probably using one created with VMWare ThinApp, in which case, plugins won’t work.
As for your 3rd post, I don’t understand what you’re talking about.

I’m aware they don’t and yes, it was a created one. Just a .EXE, no install, nothing.
Thank you though.
